The story behind
Incorporated in 1751 as Derryfield, the city was renamed Manchester
in 1810 and became known as Amoskeag Falls.
South Commercial St. is the southern wing of Mill #10 in the Amoskeag
Mill complex. Built in 1901, the building was designed for the wool
division to weave, dye, bleach & finish gingham & worsted fabrics.
It operated in that capacity until 1935, however, the floods of 1936 brought
water 10 feet high into the first floor & left 3 feet of sand behind.
In the 19th century, the Amoskeag Mill Buildings were considered the
largest mills in the world and now these stone-lined canals have since been
replaced by streets and houses many businesses in these
amazing loft style buildings.
In 1992, the Langer family purchased the building & Langer Place has
become a creative community renting to a unique variety of different businesses.
Considered the historic district of Manchester, the original hardwood floors,
15 foot ceilings and large windows splashing the loft with tons of natural light
is a welcoming area to meet with our clients.
Purposely designed with no walls ........ it allows for lots of creative
energy flowing throughout the space.
This modern, art deco NY style loft is a warm and comfortable place to
do business and I have been fortunate enough to call this place home
for the past 10 years.
